5 beauty products have been banned by the Health Ministry as they have been found to be poisonous.

Health Pharmacy Services senior director Datuk Eisah A. Rahman  named the five banned products as Cellnex Anti-Sensitive Essence Treatment, Natural 99 Night Cream, Natural 99 Day Cream, SF Beauty Night Cream (Facial) and SF Beauty Day Cream (Facial).

These products are said to contain scheduled poisons betamethasone and mercury. According to Eisah, long-term use of betamethasone without professional health guidance can your skin to thin, cause irritation, cracks and even cause pimples and pigmentation.

The owners of the companies who continue to sell the products will risk being fined up to RM25,000 or three years’ jail for the first offence. (Source)
