Uh oh!
On November 5, a female passenger who used the GrabHitch service through the ride-hailing app Grab claimed that she was sexually harassed by the driver while she was on a ride heading towards Sunway Pyramid.
The victim, a young woman with the handle @evonne127 took to Twitter in filing a complaint to GrabCar Malaysia‘s official Twitter account on the horrific situation. Her Twitter account has now been deactivated.

In a string of tweets, Evonne explained what happened on the whole ride:
Upon entering her Grab ride, Evonne saw the driver was wearing an indecent attire but she shook it off, thinking it was okay for a GrabHitch driver to do so. The driver, known as Vijayakumar, also tried to talk to her which gave her an uneasy feeling but she kept talking to him anyway to not seem rude.
The situation then turns creepier as the driver whistles at her and asks personal questions. At that point, Evonne just shrugged and pretended to be play with her phone. On the highway, the poor victim noticed that Vijayakumar had his privates out for display. She panicked and grabbed her keys tight to prepare herself in case any stabbings were necessary.
As soon as she reached her destination, she quickly dialled for Grab. Unfortunately, the operator did not know how to manage the shocking situation and asked Evonne to e-mail them instead. “I was frustrated, but she was really nice though so I emailed them and I’m thinking, ‘WTF do I even do at this point?’,” she tweeted.
Like many helpless Malaysians, she expressed her concerns of not having actual proof of the incident to lodge a police report.”I feel like most people probably don’t see it as a big deal, but I was on the verge of crying and if I made a police report, what were they even gonna do? They’d probably laugh at me. They probably won’t do anything.”
We say, just do it, Evonne! Meanwhile, Twitter users stands up to support and defend her.
