Ride hailing apps have flourished tremendously in Malaysia, especially over the past few years, and we’re always hearing horror stories involving atrocious riders.. but this incident just proves that drivers themselves are just at as much risk as riders.
It was supposed to be a five-minute pick-up and drop-off for a female Grab driver, but it turned horrendous when she picked up a man in Taman Bandaraya at around 11.45am and was on the way to his preferred destination when he started touching her.
The man also grabbed the driver’s thigh, which prompted her to push him away. He proceeded to show her photos of his penis and invited her to have sex with him.
He also threatened her and said he would not leave if she rejected him, before continuing to talk about obscene things. The victim, in her police report, also claimed that the man rubbed her breast, causing her to panic.
Even after the suspect left her car, he started sending her obscene messages on WhatsApp. Yikes! It’s definitely a reminder for everyone to be extra careful and vigilant, regardless of whether you’re a driver or rider.
