As we wait in anticipation for the first video game inspired Disney movie, Wreck-it Ralph, we decided to give you a heads up on the soundtrack, in hopes to imagine how amazing this movie would be. And let us be the first to tell you that the soundtrack is nothing short of amazing!

A pixelated orchestra, is what we would describe this album to be –  a marriage of classic symphonies with nostalgic 8-bit sounds one would remember from endless afternoons in front of the console.
Listening to the Wreck-it Ralph soundtrack is like having Mozart orchestrate Daft Punk to create something close to the classic Mario Bros. video game. The album starts with a couple of various artists like Owl City, dub step maverick Skrillex and even Rihanna, but once you get past that, you really begin to feel the vibe of this album.

Wreck-It, Wreck-It-Ralph performed by novelty music duo, Buckner & Garcia (best know for the song “Pac-Man Fever”) is a totally upbeat song that combines 80’s pop with quirkiness of 8-bit synths ala Buggles’ Video Killed the Radio Star.
Life in the Arcade is a classically fashioned synthesized track that makes for pure 45 seconds of 8-bit video game goodness.
Sugar Rush Showdown is a “turbo-charged” track that also features Henry Jackman’s symphonic sounds, integrated with the upbeat 8-bit synths, making it an epic climax to the album. An absolute highlight to the album, leaving you in a high state of energy and fantasy!

Wreck-It Ralph is certainly a must-have if you’re an avid collector of movie soundtracks because you’ll never find there is no album like this, especially if you’re a hardcore gamer, and you feel like you might need a little backing music to go with your daily adventures!
