Fortunately, there are more and more drugstore beauty brands coming up these days in our local pharmacies like Guardian and Watson’s. A majority of these brands offer professional quality products that are half the price of most high-end beauty brands. We spoke to everyday Malaysian women to share their favorite drugstore beauty products and why they love it!
“Neutrogena’s oil-free moistruizer is the best! They’re a little pricey for pharmacy standards, but from what I know, some dermatologists actually recommend them. That’s good enough for me”. Mary, 28

“It’s hard to find the perfect foundation match for medium-olive skin, especially in drugstores because they usually cater to fairer skin. Revlon’s Photoready foundations are easy to work with, though. You just have to buy one or two shades and mix it up to create your own custom shade. It’s just as expensive as getting it at a beauty bar, but at least you’ll have twice as much”. – Leanne, 26
“I skip expensive lotions and body butters and stick to Vaseline. Dry skin, cracked heels, chaffing, cracked lips? Vaseline will solve all your skin problems, and it’s affordable”. – Lisa, 22
“Johnson’s Baby Shampoo all-day, everyday for me. It’s just as pricey as most brands, but baby shampoo is extremely gentle on your hair and they all smell good”. – Anya, 25
“Acne is hard to deal with, but I can’t afford Proactiv or brands like that. Suprisingly, Garnier’s range for acne-prone skin does actually help clear the zits away, and it’s really cheap so I really recommend it to everyone with a tight beauty budget”. – Melissa, 23
