Binge-watching the Amazon Prime series Four More Shots Please had me thinking of my own girl gang back in my uni days, and had me reminiscing about what we got up to – and raised my spirits amidst this ongoing pandemic lockdown.
Modern civilization has attempted to be open-minded and welcoming of various forms of identities and concepts. Four More Shots Please helps to further this cause and is an example of an Indian show that depicts the broad concept of feminism.
Periods, female masturbation, awakening sexuality, workplace discrimination, divorce and practically every other issue in a woman’s life are discussed on the show!
This is the first show that I feel has openly shown how the queer community is treated in India. The essence of honesty that flows through the scenes is so brutally unapologetic – and refreshing.
Sadly, most bloggers and websites in India have denounced the show for its boldness, and it has been savaged with negative remarks by the elites.
I personally feel this show accurately exhibits everyday female struggles, highlighting how women break stereotypical glass ceilings in the concrete jungle
