Some girls might think draw black smokey eyes are too much, especially on Asian eyes. Well, it does not necessarily have to be black to get yourself a pair of big, alluring smoky eyes. It works quite well with brown smoky eyes, bigger eyes but with more natural. Here’s our tutorial:

Model: Genevieve           Make-up Artist: Ashley

Tools that we use:

shadow color

  1. Urban Decay Eye Shadow (Zodiac)
  2. Urban Decay Eye Shadow (Diamond Dog)
  3. Bobbi Brown Metallic Long-wear Cream Shadow (Antique Gold)
  4. Bobbi Brown Long-wear Cream Shadow (Sand Dollar)
  5. Kate LIMITED EDITION Brown Collection (BR-3) – Silver Grey and Medium Charcoal
  6. Cyber Colors Gemstone Mono Eye Shadow (Brown Tiger Eye)

liners and mascara

Brows, Eyeliner, Mascara

  1. Cyber Colors Glittering Eyeliner (Silver)
  2. Cyber Colors 24hr Eyebrow DUO (Dark Brown)
  3. Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Perfect Eyeliner N (Black)
  4. Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Perfect Liquid Eyeliner
  5. Bobbi Brown Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening Mascara (Black)
  6. Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow Mahogany (for brow)

Steps:

  1. Divide your eye area into three parts: front, middle, end.
  2. Apply light cream shadow on the inner corner of the eye, dark cream shadow on the rest of the eyelid.
  3. Dab on powder shadow colour on top of it. Do it with a brush. The shadow colour will stay longer and it will be easier to blend.
  4. Continue with second shade for your middle eye, dab on top as well.
  5. Blend both colours gently between light colours and dark brown.
  6. Apply the darkest shade lastly.
  7. For illuminating effect, add on a small amount of dark green shadow colours between second shade and the darkest shade.
  8. Draw a thick layer of black eyeliner on upper lid. Start small and gradually work your way to the thickness
  9. Bond the pointy edge of the liner on under eye, but until middle of the eye.
  10. Use a silver eyeliner to draw at the inner corner of the under eye, and also a little bit on upper lids.
  11. Complete the look with mascara and don’t forget to groom your eyebrows.

Things you need to remember:

  1. Once you’ve applied cream shadow as your base, dab on top but not brush on to avoid mistakes.
  2. You may draw a thicker pair of eyeshadow if you wish to look more chic and glamorous, especially you’re up for night parties or dinner.
  3. Avoid solid colour separation between light and darker colours. Blend them to illustrate a great fade in effect.
  4. The darkest colour should start from the middle eyelid, and then spread to the end of your eyes.
  5. Use clean brushes for hygienic purposes.
