In season three of The X Factor, we’ve all been enjoying Demi Lovato’s presence on the judging panel along with Kelly Rowland, Paulina Rubio and the infamous Simon Cowell. But unfortunately, the news about Demi leaving The X Factor has been confirmed by Simon Cowell on Wednesday, December 20th 2013. He stated, “I always knew she wasn’t coming back because she’s touring, so I knew that.”
Demi herself discussed her departure from the Fox series saying:
“I started the show being a singer and a musician, and so I’m going to go back to that. It’s been really great, but I’m so excited for 2014. I’m going to dedicate it completely and entirely to music – touring and making a new album. Possibly releasing one.”
When she was asked about what she would miss most about being on The X Factor, she said, “Being able to sit next to Kelly and Paulina and see them twice a week, and also helping mentor the contestants.”
According to People, the show’s schedule conflicts with Demi’s plans to spend more time on her music. She would also be kicking off her Neon Lights tour on February 9th, 2014 in Vancouver.
For the fourth season of The X Factor, it is unclear whether Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio would be joining Simon once again. Sources told E! News saying, “There haven’t been any conversations about the judges next year.”
