Do you think guys are better when it comes to cooking? In conjunction with DIVA UNIVERSAL’s Hot Guys Who Cook, we interviewed three yummylicious guys who are participating in the show. Find out what they have to say about the one thing that we all can’t live without – food!
George Young
Q: Where do you get your cooking ideas from?
“I’m like the guinea pig in the family. On normal days when I’m bored, that’s when the recipe in the show comes about. It’s simple as it only involves cheese, rice and steak. You chop it up and stick it and wrap it up. Quick and easy that fills the gap.I used to work in a law firm and when I came back home, I always wanted something quick and easy.”
Josiah Mizukami
Q: Cooking? What made you learn how to cook?
“It wasn’t a lot about learning but it was more like I had to know how to cook. There are a lot of fine dining places around but they are all just covered with MSG. I like to cook mainly because of the health factor. There’s McDonalds and stuff, but they’re all just fast food, which is not healthy. The main satisfaction I get out of cooking is the fact that it brings everyone together. Gone were the days when everyone sat down and had a good meal. Instead everyone is too busy on Facebook and Twitter these days.”
Henry Golding
Q: Most people dislike cooking as the cleaning up is extremely hectic. What do you have to say about that?
“Actually my friend just pointed this out to me very recently. His advice was to clean up as you go. Once you have finished chopping something up and you know that you are not going to be using that anymore, then give that a wash while something else boils and you sort of switch and use the same utensils but just give it a wipe. Having your dishes pile up is what makes a cooking a ‘stressful’ task to many people.”
