K-pop boyband Super Junior have been rolling out promotional activities for its eighth studio album Play, but one member won’t be joining in on the activities – Choi Siwon.
Choi’s agency Label SJ announced on Oct 31 that the singer-actor will be sitting out on the activities, even though Choi have participated in the recording of the new album and music video shoot. The singer sat out a two-day fan event in Japan on Oct 24 as well as rehearsals for JTBC’s programme Knowing Brothers. Super Junior’s eighth album Play will only showcase the remaining six members.

The announcement came as Choi and his family came under fire for a fatal accident in which a restaurateur died of sepsis on Oct. 6 after being attacked by their pet dog. Choi has since removed the image of him and the family pet dog from his Instagram page.
We’re not sure if the scandal circulating Choi and his family was what motivated the agency’s decision of making Choi sit out on promotional activities, but one thing’s for sure – a lot of Super Junior fans anticipating their comeback will be disappointed over Choi’s absence.
