Riccardo Tisci’s departure from Givenchy marked the end of an era. And ever since the news broke, everyone’s been speculating over who would be replacing him.
Well, speculate no more – the luxury brand has announced that Clare Waight Keller from Chloé will be taking over the House of Givenchy, Business of Fashion reports.
The brand broke the news in a pretty straightforward manner with this Instagram post.

Waight Keller will be the second female designer to take the helm at a LVMH couture house (Louis Vuitton, Dior, Sephora, Hennesy and more) according to BoF. While she has had stints at Calvin Klein, and Gucci, this will be her first gig in officially designing haute couture.
Waight Keller is an interesting choice and shift for Givenchy, given the vast differences in Tisci and Waight Keller’s design DNA. While Tisci heads on back to his Italian roots and penchant for sensual, form-fitting silhouettes at Versace, Waight Keller’s RTW pieces have been regarded as easy to wear.
Their circle of celebrity fans are very very different, as well – the front row at Chloé tends to be filled with French and American actresses, directors, and creative types in general (think Loulou Robert, Solange Knowles), as opposed to the mega-watt names Givenchy had attracted during Tisci’s time, like many members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
