Who knew that you could catch your unfaithful partner cheating on you with the help of an Internet mapping service?
Marina Voinova entered the address of her house into a Russian version of Google’s map service called Yandex Maps, to find her house. But to her surprise, she found a picture of her boyfriend of five years, Sasha with his arms around another woman.
“First I noticed a familiar silhouette, I thought, ‘how can someone else look so similar to my Sasha”. She added that she looked more carefully, zoomed in and saw that it was indeed him. “I realized that he was lying and cheating on me all this time”.
Maria realized she recognized him from a sling he was wearing from when he broke his arm. Maria burst into tears at her office before going home to confront Sasha. He then admitted to having an affair and left him soon after.
According to Yandex, they’ve received many complaints from Russians who’ve been captured on their program.
