Last Friday, Carlsberg Malaysia gave us the opportunity to taste something new which we were actually quite impressed with. It was not beer, it was not apple juice – it was the Somersby Apple Cider.
Imported from Sweden, the Somersby Apple Cider is sweet and has a very light texture to it. This drink is perfect for evening gatherings or to be served at family gatherings.
This beverage is made from red apples that are fermented, and contains 4.5% alcohol. How do you drink it? Simple. Just serve it over a bit of ice and it will bring out the right zest and sweetness without any aftertaste of beer.
The Managing Director of Carlsberg Malaysia admitted that cider is still rather new in Malaysia and Somersby offers consumers a refreshing alternative to beer. So if you have always thought that beer is not a ladies’ drink, you now have an alternative.
