5 Tips To Get Rid Of Itchy Mosquito Bites

Living in tropical climate, it’s common to find mosquitoes in everywhere, literally any time of the day. These little annoyance are most active in heat and humid weather. Therefore fellow Malaysians, let’s face it, our bond with mosquitoes and insects are for life. Though some people are more prone to mosquito bites than others, there are still many who get bitten by mosquitoes on a daily basis and we can all relate to the unbearable helpless itching afterwards. Fortunately, there are ways you can reduce the itching intensity using these tips.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is as remedy in many areas. Some common uses include treating acne and cooling your skin after a sunburn. The soothing properties of this plant can reduce itching from a mosquito bite as well. It cools your skin from the irritation which instantly gets rid of the itching sensation. Use an Aloe Vera gel and apply it on the bite. The gel will soothe your skin from itching in a few seconds!

Banana peel

This might not be the first thing that comes to your mind, but as it turns out, the inner part of the banana skin is highly effective in eliminating itching. Simply rub the inside of the banana peel on the bite and you’ll feel the difference in seconds! Amazingly, the moisture in the bite is removed by the sugars in the banana peel.

Ice cubes

This might be the first thing you’d grab to soothe your skin since it’s obviously cold and easily available anywhere. If you have just been bitten by a mosquito, its best to cool the bite immediately to prevent itching. Put a few ice cubes in a towel and press it on the bite for at least 20 minutes. The cold press will numb the itching and the swelling will disappear.

DAILYHUNT

Salt

Salt in another useful panacea. Salt helps to dry out the bite which reduces itching as well. The best way to use salt to stop itching is by wetting the bite and applying salt over it. Rub it gently and then soak a while before washing it off. It will sting a while, but at least you’ve gotten rid of the annoying itch!

Toothpaste

This is another handy item which is used effectively to clean things, dry out pimples and also ease your skin mosquito itches. Preferably, use a toothpaste with peppermint in it. Take a amount of toothpaste and rub it on the bite. Leave it on a while and wash it away once it’s completely dried out.
