Crayola Just Launched A Vegan Beauty Line & It’s Perfect For Your Festival Beauty Looks

In 1994, Crayola launched a line of scented crayons which include coconut, chocolate and cherry aromas. But in 1995, the products had to be recalled because 10 children were reported to have eaten them. Ha! Remember what else we used to with crayons? Applying them on our face, that is, because we were too young to touch our mom’s expensive adult makeup products — too young to even realise how harmful it could be for your skin.

But lucky for the kid in us, we can now relive our childhood in a safe way with Crayola’s new, much-awaited beauty line.

To appease those of us who can’t resist colouring our faces with crayons (yes, we exist and it’s a fascinating cultural phenomena), the company has decided to dip its toes into beauty with 58 products that are officially up for grabs online.

The Easton, Pennsylvania, company introduced a vegan, gender fluid, 95-shade line online with fashion and beauty retailer ASOS. And the best part is, the products are branded like Crayola crayons and markers.

The whole line certainly has an updated, modern look to it, but the packaging feels nostalgic. Sets of three lipsticks are even sold in those signature yellow cartons.

On Crayola’s FAQ page, the company actually had to specify it’s not safe to use crayons or colored pencils on your face as makeup – meaning apparently there was demand for those new highly pigmented, vibrant formulas.

So far, previews are applauding the creamy formulas and rich colours, many of which are in original Crayola crayon colours.

I mean, wouldn’t this be perfect for your festival beauty inspos? To shop the brand, head over to Asos.
