I’ll admit it, I spent a lot of time as a child giving my Barbie dolls makeovers. I wasn’t very good at it, of course, judging by the way I mostly let my own hair be. But one Brazilian artist takes Barbie makeovers to new heights – and it’s kind of the height that I want to be on right now.
Rafinha Silva dedicates his Instagram feed for Barbie makeovers. Here you’d find a treasure trove of Barbie doll heads – both pre and post makeover.
Rafinha told Cosmopolitan that he began trying his hand at custom Barbie dolls in 2013, allowing customers to personalise their Barbie dolls to their heart’s content.
Though Mattel has taken Barbie through a lot of changes over the years, Rafinha made sure that everyone could feel represented by his Barbie dolls. He crafts everything from the Barbie’s haircut, color and style, and he even switches up the dolls’ makeup and nails based on his clients’ preferences.
Kinda wish that Rafinha could do my hair too.
