The sufficient amount of sleep for each adult varies from person to person, but let’s face it – most of us barely get enough snooze time nowadays. To help you get better sleep and understand your own sleeping habits, some smartphone apps do a pretty darn good job at monitoring sleep, helping you fall into deeper sleep and showing you the factors that disturb your sleep. Here are four of them you can check out:

1. SleepBot – This app tracks how you’re sleeping and the smart alarm goes off at an optimal time to ensure you wake up less tired. With daily use, the app analyses your sleeping trends and shows you which days are best for your snooze time. Besides offering tips on how you can get the best sleep, you can even add your own music as the alarm ringtone.

2. Sleep Better – By setting the device next to your pillow, this user-friendly app tracks how deeply you fell in and out of sleep, then it gives you little reports. This function even works in airplane mode, so you don’t have to worry about connecting to Wi-Fi during bedtime. On top of that, you can see how caffeine, alcohol and stress change the way you sleep, or describe your dreams in a little journal.

3. pzizz – This app would be a perfect bedtime companion that helps you slip gently with the aid of music, words, sound effects and binaural beats. By setting a duration, the app generates a sleeping soundtrack unique to you from its library and you have control over the volume, sound effects, and vocal tracks used. With more than 10 billion possible combos, the app will definitely help you de-stress, relax and re-energise.
