This is one movie that cannot be missed! About Ray, starring 17-year-old Elle Fanning, is more than a multi-generational family drama. It’s the first major movie to show the challenges that come with it in the process of transitioning genders.
The Maleficent actress plays Ray, a teenage boy born in a girl’s body growing up in New York. The movie co-stars Naomi Watts as a conflicted yet supportive mum, Susan Sarandon as the grandmother who says Ray should just “become a lesbian,” and Tate Donavon as a no-good dad who was not in the picture when Elle’s character was growing up.
