Let’s face it. At some point in our lives, we’ve all fallen for advertisements and purchased something we were later disappointed with.
According to a new research, as little as 18% of claims made in makeup commercials are trustworthy.
When labels use the terms “clinically proven” or “inspired by groundbreaking DNA research,” researchers found that the majority were vague and some were outright lies.
The team assessed 289 beauty ads for this research, and even when some labels back their claims with scientific evidence or consumer testing, they often used questionable methodologies.
With this, we believe that looking up reviews online would be the best way to go.
