Unfortunately, most of the comments left on her pictures were negative and just downright abusive. Comments as cruel as “Ugly”, “Disgusting”, and “Gross” were thrown at her.

She mentioned on her blog that the aim of the video was to show how the media can set an unrealistic expectation of beauty on both men and women. She wrote: “One challenge many face today, is that as a society, we’re so used to seeing false images of perfection, and comparing ourselves to unrealistic beauty standards that It can be hard to remember the most important thing – You ARE beautiful.”

In the same video, she also featured comments and messages from other people who reached out to her about their acne problems and insecurity issues. Her video is a compelling one that is sure to affect viewers deeply.
