For many women, flying can be a nightmare, especially if it is a long haul journey. The contained air in the plane can terribly stress out the skin and make some feel very uncomfortable. Well, having a proper in-flight beauty routine can change that, and make you look and feel a million times better when you step out of that plane. Here are 10 products you will need:
1. Facial wipes – You really shouldn’t wear tons of makeup when you’re stuck in a plane for hours. The gunk might get absorbed into the pores, causing you to break out. For that reason, you should always have facial wipes on hand to remove your makeup and to wipe your skin clean from time to time.
2. Hydrating mist – Being constrained in a plane for hours can dry out and exhaust the skin tremendously. Whenever your skin is feeling parched, a few spritz of hydrating mist would instantly refresh the skin and make you look less tired.
3. Tinted lip balm – To avoid having chapped lips and to step out of the plane looking more presentable, we suggest carrying a tinted lip balm. Not only would it nourish the lips, it would also provide a nice wash of colour to make you look more awake. If you wish, you can dab some of the product on your cheeks for an instant flush.
4. Face cleanser – Sometimes, facial wipes aren’t sufficient for the skin to feel super clean, and if you feel the need to cleanse the skin mid-flight, bring along a no-rinse face cleanser. This way, you can simply wipe off the cleanser and avoid all the mess trying to rinse your face in the tiny lavatory.
5. Does-it-all moisturiser – Instead of a regular face moisturiser, we recommend getting your hands on one that can be used all over the body as well. Besides keeping your face moisturised, you can also use this for your hands and on wherever you have dry patches mid-flight.
6. Eye drops – We do not recommend wearing contact lenses on the plane as the eyes can get very dry and irritated. Even if you don’t have contact lenses on, remember to bring along some eye drops so that you can soothe the eyes when needed.
7. Toothbrush and toothpaste – Having a clean mouth and fresh breath really makes a huge difference in how you look and feel. The next time you’re staying at a hotel, save the toothbrushes so that you can use them on a plane. This way, you can easily dispose them after you’re done.
8. Eyebrow pencil – Eyebrows really do frame the shape of the face and instantly make a woman look more put together. In case you’ve wiped or washed off the product on your eyebrows, make sure to carry an eyebrow pencil with you to fill them in before you step out of the plane.
9. Tinted moisturiser or BB cream – Nobody has time for foundations and makeup brushes on a plane. For that reason, we highly recommend a tinted moisturiser or BB cream. You can apply these lightweight products by hand and still get the coverage you need.
10. Rollerball perfume – Being on a long haul flight means having no access to a proper shower. In case you start smelling a little funky, a spritz of your favourite fragrance would help you feel so much better. A nice-smelling deodorant would work well too.
