Year 2015 indeed marks another milestone for Boat Noodle! With its vast presence across the country, Boat Noodle is proud to announce its first charity effort, as it successfully raised RM 20, 859.40 from 104, 297 bowl of noodles sold in conjunction with its “Slurp to a Great New Year” Campaign.
Boat Noodle’s charity effort was largely supported by the many slurpy noodle fanatics whom participated in this campaign from 26 December 2014 to 10 January 2015. For each bowl, Boat Noodle pledged to contribute RM0.20 and the proceeds were channeled to Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary, Agathians Shelter Home and the recent flood victims in the northern region of Malaysia.
Executive Director of Boat Noodle, Tony Lim commented “As part of our strong belief of giving back to society, we decided to embark on this charity fundraising campaign, largely with an aim to provide basic necessities such as food supply, shelter, clothing and many more to the children who are in need and the less fortunate flood victims.”
As a celebration to the success of this campaign, Boat Noodle hosted children from Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary at the Publika outlet today. In this celebratory event, a mock cheque presentation was held between the representatives’ of the welfare homes and the management of Boat Noodle.
Additionally, the kids were enthralled with an exclusive cooking demonstration by Boat Noodle’s chefs and head cooks – these adorable children had the opportunity to participate and savour on many flavours of slurpy noodles that Boat Noodle offers, either chicken or beef flavoured noodles covered in broth or dry; accompanied with condiments. Furthermore, the children gained the opportunity to learn about Thailand’s exquisite culture mainly on the unique cuisine.
”This was indeed an educational and fun experience for many of the kids who have never tasted or come across Thailand’s culture and cuisine, particularly with regard to Thai spices, seasoning and cooking styles”, said Puan Sumaiyah, a representative from Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih.
Lim added “As a leading Boat Noodle restaurant that serves original Thai cuisine in Malaysia, we would like to give a big thank you to our Boat Noodle fans for their utmost support by stacking up their good deeds with us.”
“This year will be another remarkable journey for Boat Noodle. With the aim to provide an unforgettable dining experience as well as giving convenience to our diners, we will be expanding our footprints domestically. Most importantly, we will continue to differentiate ourselves by diversifying into other various types of Thai cuisine, which I strongly believe it will definitely appeal to Malaysians’ taste buds.”
Boat noodle is a Thai street-food staple originally hawked from small boats on the canals of central Thailand. The Original Boat Noodle has indeed got Malaysians buzzing, after marking its first footprint in Empire Damansara. Boat Noodle outlets quirky interior portrays a Thai street market facade, comprising signages in Thai and vintage knick-knacks, which enable diners to experience and explore Thailand’s street market nostalgia locally.
Currently, Boat Noodle has seven outlets in Malaysia, which are strategically located at Empire Damansara, The School at Jaya One, Ikon Cheras, Publika, Sutera Mall at Johor Bahru, Gamuda Walk at Kota Kemuning and Klang Parade.
