For those of you who have yet to experience the amazing cirque-style performance that is LumiAir, you might want to do so after this post.
Every year, Sunway Lagoon offers guests with a year-end performance unlike any other. The previous years saw re-tellings of well-loved fairy tale classics such as Beauty & the Beast and Snow White but this year, the iconic theme park is pushing the envelope with LumiAir – A Cirque Sensation. LumiAir is a two hour grand cirque style performance using big apparatus to produce spectacular tricks in the air. This combined with acrobatic ballet scenes and entertaining breaks by the performers will without a doubt steal one’s attention. You will also be shocked at some of the stunts performed, especially towards the end.
“Being a strong brand that is well recognised in the International and Malaysian theme-park market, the partnership between Sunway Lagoon and LumiAir is a strategic one, considering Sunway Group’s 40th Anniversary as well as being a great way for us to end this wonderful year. To date, the first eight shows have already been sold-out, indicating how well-received and big LumiAir is growing in this market itself,” said Mr. Sean Choo, General Manager of Sunway Lagoon at the Gala Premiere of LumiAir.
LumiAir is an Australian production brought to you by Susan Porrett, who produced and directed LumiAir. She has been in the live show and theatre entertainment industry for 20 years and LumiAir is a story inspired by her own life. The main character Diamond, awakens in a world of darkness and embarks on a journey to find the light.
“Though this is our first collaboration with Sunway Lagoon, we are excited to have learnt that our first eight shows are already sold-out, as we gear up to go on stage and entertain Malaysians for the first-time. Sunway Lagoon is a leader in the entertainment industry and we are delighted to be on-board of this partnership that is already bearing great success,” shared Susan.
LumiAir is choreographed by the current World Aerobics champion, Anthony Ikin who has worked at Paris’ Moulin Rouge as well as being a choreographic consultant for Gymnastics Australia. To make LumiAir a performance unlike any other, Anthony has joined forces with former choreographer for Australia’s Got Talent, Daniella Winter.
