This girl surely does no wrong.
In The Hunger Games, Katniss sings “Rue’s Lullaby” and in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, Jennifer Lawrence brings her vocals to the film series once more.
We’ll just let you know in advance – she sounds pretty damn good.
Katniss sings “The Hanging Tree,” which she learned from her father in the movie. The song then becomes an anthem for the revolution against the capitol.
The lyrics are from the book, written by Suzanne Collins, and the melody for its big-screen debut was written by folk rock band The Lumineers.
Lawrence sure wasn’t happy about singing though! Director Francis Lawrence said she wasn’t thrilled about having to sing: “Jen was not happy she had to sing it all day long. She cried a little bit in the morning.” Aww.
