The brothers who brought you CoffeeSociété and Garage 51 have scored a caffeine hat-trick with their third coffee outlet, Underground Société.
Just yesterday, we were treated to a special preview of Underground Société, located on the street behind Garage 51. This time around, the Choong siblings are setting new standards when it comes to coffee culture. Their third outlet cashes in on the hidden bars/speakeasy concept that has yet to be applied to coffee establishments.
At the media preview yesterday, Choong Kar Wai said, “When we were planning to introduce a new café, we looked at what Malaysia was missing and decided to create something that is completely unique. Underground Société is in line with our aim to remain a game-changer by not conforming to café standards, trends and hypes.”
Customers will be delighted with the varieties of coffee available at Underground Société. One can mix their regular cup of espresso with the liquor of their choice or have a latte with a shot of Bailey’s or Kahlua. The star of the menu is none other than a cold-brewed coffee-on-tap that transforms your regular iced coffee into a smooth, lightly carbonated signature blend of coffee which bears an uncanny resemblance to a pint of stout.
Brother and co-founder Kar Heng added, “Over the years, we have been reaching out to our customers to learn more about what they like and what they are looking for. We have incorporated all these learnings in Underground Société. “Underground” signifies a group or movement seeking to explore alternative forms of lifestyle or artistic expression.”
Food-wise, Underground Société serves a delectable and diverse menu for brunch and lunch while a different set of menu is available for dinner. Business lunches are available from Monday – Friday with a complimentary cup of coffee or glass of wine. An After Six menu is also available from 6-9pm where customers can enjoy special daily promotions.
Underground Société is open daily from 11am to 2am and is located at No.68, Jalan PJS 11/7, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya.
