We found this place by coincidence last Saturday afternoon and decided to dine in by flipping a coin! Fate chose beef for us and boy did we have lots of it! If you’re already familiar with the popular Tangkak beef noodles (Tangkak is a little town down south in Johor), this outlet in Jalan Imbi is a branch of the famous Kuang Fei restaurant in Tangkak. As we sat down and ordered a piping hot bowl of beef noodles, we noticed the wall behind the counter adorned with newspaper and magazine clippings featuring the place.
There are a variety of noodles to select from namely laksa noodles, kuey teow, yellow mee and bihun. You may also upgrade to ramen noodles for an additional RM1. Prices start at RM5.50 for food and there’s a good variety of combinations of meat, tripe, tendon and shin for you to stomach. Beef noodles start from RM7.90 to RM15.00. A bowl of beef, tripe and tendon koay teow costs RM8.90.
The broth is cooked using 10 different chinese herb yet does not overpower the taste of the beef flavor. If you’re here with a friend or two, you might want to order a bowl of 8 beef balls at only RM5.50 to share. The beef balls were springy and absolutely delicious.
The best part about Tangkak Beef Noodles is the food here is Halal certified! This outlet, however, will be moving to Taman Maluri, Cheras on the 11th of September so don’t forget to get your fix of beefy goodness if you’re in the area!
