A subcontracted railway employee has confessed to raping and killing a 13-year-old girl on a night train heading from the southern province of Surat Thani to Bangkok early Sunday morning.
Wanchai Saengkhao, a 22-year-old bed-sheet replacement employee, reportedly confessed on Monday night to raping and killing the girl, identified only as Kaem.
He then threw her body out of a window of a sleeper of Train No. 174.
The deceased girl’s family went to the Hua Hin district in the Prachuap Khiri Khan province, whereby a train bed sheet and a blood-stained T-shirt was found near the track.
The naked girl’s body was found at about 4 a.m. on Tuesday in thick grass.
Wanchai admitted to taking methamphetamine after the train left and drank beer with friends in the fourth sleeper car. The victim had been in the third car of the train.
He mentioned of opening a window of the non-air-conditioned car where the girl was sleeping so that the wind blocked the noise before attacking her.
Before the train approached the Wang Pong station, he threw her body out the window after he was done with her.
After that, he threw the blood-stained bed sheet and the victim’s clothes out the window when the train was passing by the next station, Nong Kae.
Wanchai was taken by a helicopter to the authorities.
