A Vietnamese woman hid a handphone in her vagina to prevent detection after she was caught stealing at the SS2 night market in Petaling Jaya.
The woman used a blade to cut open the handbag of a victim before taking her purse and handphone at about 8pm on Monday.
Several community policemen and hawkers who were at the night market witnessed her act and trailed her.
They then stopped her when she was putting the loot in a lorry parked nearby and took her to the police station.
At the police station, the woman, who was wearing a long dress, inserted the handphone into her vagina when nobody was looking.
A police officer conducted a search on her and asked her to retrieve the handphone from her vagina.
