I only swear by pencil or gel liners and I’ve never been a huge fan of liquid eyeliners. Maybe it’s due to the fact that they can get quite messy if the formula is too watery and the tips are sometimes too soft, making it difficult to control. Having said that, Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Action Precision Longwear Liner is one of the best liquid liners I’ve tried so far. Read my thoughts on the product below!
Here’s the product description from Tarte’s website:

The foolproof design, complete with an easy-hold grip, allows the liner to seamlessly glide and fill in spaces, without any skipping, smudging or pulling. Simply trace the ultra-thin, flexible tip along the lash line to create tight, crisp lines or the bolder, more dramatic looks you desire.

First, let’s talk about the packaging. I love how this eyeliner comes in a pen form and has an ergonomic section which makes the product easier to grip onto. What I love most about this eyeliner is the tip. As mentioned above, I usually dislike liquid eyeliners because of the brush tip they come with. With this one, you’ll get a firm, felt tip that makes application a breeze. It glides smoothly on the eyelids and holds its shape well, so you get maximum control.
The colour of the eyeliner is very black and opaque. The skinny felt tip also allows for very precise, thin and neat lines. I personally prefer a thicker line of eyeliner on my eyes, and this eyeliner does the job just as well. I’d first use the eyeliner to draw a frame for my cat eye, then fill it in after.
This eyeliner doesn’t smudge or budge after a long day of wear, and the colour doesn’t fade on me. The only downside to this eyeliner is that it isn’t waterproof. If you want to go for a dip in the pool, I’m afraid this eyeliner will not stay in place. For someone with pretty normal eyelids like myself, I don’t mind the fact that it isn’t waterproof though. I’d never go swimming in makeup anyway.
Besides Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, this is my current favourite liquid eyeliner. It’s convenient, easy, quick and lasts a very long time on the eyelids. I’d say that the Stila one still wins hands down in terms of staying power and the fact that it is a waterproof eyeliner, but I very much prefer the felt tip on this Tarte liner.
Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Action Precision Longwear Liner is available at all Sephora outlets in Malaysia and retails for RM69.
