Right after her Grammy win, Rihanna caught up with E!’s Alicia Quarles at MAC’s Soho store to have a chat about beauty and body image.
The singer revealed clearly where she gets her love of makeup – her mom. “I mean, she had so much makeup when I was a little girl, and mostly red lipstick,” said the Barbadian beauty.
“I couldn’t wait to wear it. I put on makeup for the first time when I was 16-years-old and it was so much fun,” dishes the singer. “And the rest is history. Now I’m here sitting with MAC.”
The conversation then moved from lipstick to body image, and the 25-year-old singer was refreshingly candid. “I do pick on my body,” she admitted. “It’s a thing that women do. We walk in front of the mirror and we look at our butt. Is it getting bigger today? Ew. It’s still flat.”
We can relate to the natural instinct to find imperfections about our bodies, but when her rear already looks so stunning, we think “Ew” should never be the words coming out from her mouth!
