Mercedes-Benz & STYLO Launch Inaugural Asia Fashion Week in M’sia

Mercedes-Benz joins forces with STYLO International to bring to life the very first Asia Fashion Week in Malaysia from 30th November to 4th December 2013. The Mercedes-Benz STYLO Asia Fashion Week will bring together top designers from 11 Asian countries to the capital city and the island of Langkawi for its grand debut.

The event will see the introduction of the Rainforest Fashion Initiative supported by MyCreative Ventures and IM4U, which are initiatives under the Government of Malaysia and LADA Eco-Tourism. Fashion designers from China, India, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore will be competing for the title ‘Asia’s Most Influential Designer 2014’.

The ‘Asia for Asia’ Mercedes-Benz STYLO Asia Fashion Week is the 30th fashion week in the world for Mercedes-Benz.

Besides young designers from 11 Asian countries, the participants at Asia Fashion Week include some of the most prolific fashion retailers and trade buyers from Asia. Amongst them are Galeries Lafayette and the Metro Group from Indonesia, the Central Mall Group from Thailand, Shoe Mart from Philippines, Artico of Japan and China, Eslite from Taiwan, the Ossia Group and Tangs from Singapore.

The Mercedes-Benz STYLO Asia Fashion Week will be executed in two parts:

Part 1: Langkawi’s top spots will be used as the main backdrop for fashion shoots for international designers and will host the Grand Opening Gala at the Andaman Hotel.

Part 2: The main runway shows will be held in Kuala Lumpur at White Box, Publika. There will be 24 shows staged in 6 time slots.

10 tickets will be given away for every slot to the public and fashion enthusiasts on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Individual business matching activities involving buyers and designers will be held at the Aloft Hotel and they will also be hosting the first Asian Fashion Roundtable led by Datuk Yeoh and the Malaysian Fashion Associations.

7:00p.m.: Cocktails at Sunset
