Jaeger-leCoultre celebrated their 180 years anniversary in an event organized only in selected countries around the world and Malaysia was privileged to host the exhibition and gala at the Westin Kuala Lumpur on the 9th of October 2013. The evening was also graced by honoured guests which included the Chairman of Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board, Dato’ Sri Ng Yen Yen.
Jaeger-leCoultre focuses on the constant pursuit of perfection and the highlight of the brand’s 180th anniversary was the spectacular exhibition which took place at Starhill Gallery from 5th October 2013 till the 8th October 2013, commemorating nine wonders of the manufacturer’s iconic timepieces in the history of Swiss watch-making. The exhibition featured the classic and new masterpieces such as the Reverso Grande Complication à Triptyque (2005), Duomètre à Grande Sonnerie (2009), Reverso Répétition Minutes à Rideau (2011) and the latest edition to the Grand Complication family of Jaeger-leCoultre, the Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon 3 (2013).
“It is our responsibility to live up to Jaeger-leCoultre’s heritage and to ensure our future too has a glorious past. Our aim is to push the limits of what a watchmaker can possibly accomplish and achieve. This is precisely why we do what we do and I must admit that it all makes us quite proud. But there would not be any anniversary to commemorate without men and women like you who share our passion of high-watchmaking,” said Daniel Riedo, Chief Executive Officer of Jaeger-leCoultre.
On the other hand, the gala dinner was beautifully shaped up with an unforgettable performance by two members of the Australian cast of the Phantom of the Opera whereby guests were serenaded with a beautifully costumed performance.
The Jaeger-leCoultre 180th Anniversary Exhibition and Gala was greatly supported by their partners Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur, Leica, Quill Automobiles, Royal Dragon Vodka and Starhill Gallery as a venue partner.
