“Over the past 10 years I’ve had the chance to witness the Malaysian Hip Hop scene grow and develop into its own. With so much hard work and dedication by members of the scene, we also realized that this input was going unrecognized by the mainstream awards already in existence, who’s main focus seems bent on an artists’ commercial success or popularity, rather than skill and dedication to their artistic craft.
Through proper recognition we hope to unearth and expose new talents and create a climate of creativity to uplift the Malaysian Hip Hop scene and strengthen its core foundation”.

Submissions for MY Hip Hop Awards will begin on 23 September 2013 and the closing deadline will be on 10 October 2013. All submissions for MY Hip Hop Awards are to be submitted as Soundcloud links and all music videos in YouTube links to myhiphopawards@gmail.com.
Participants must send a full profile with contact details, pictures and social media links. For B-Boys, submit a YouTube video and profile; Graffiti artists are required to send a portfolio of your best 5 pieces of work and profile.
