Gathering on the Adorn floor of the iconic epicentre for culture in Malaysia, The Gallery @ Star Hill was proud to present the Odysseys, a group exhibition of exquisite artworks from aspiring local artists in association with 1MCAT 2013. The showcase was officiated by the Tourism Malaysia Chairman, Dato’ Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen.
The talented up-and-comers included Wong Perng Fey, Haffendi Anuar, Gan How Ming, Wong Wen Su, Diu Su Thao, Lee Choon Seng and Arikwibowo bin Amril. Their pieces of work were displayed within Starhill Gallery for everyone to admire and even acquire if the moment of inspiration hit.
The exhibition, appropriately titled Odysseys, is on display from August 19 – September 15, 2013 on the Adorn floor at Starhill Gallery. The collection of work symbolises the journeys the artists embarked on that brought them to unfamiliar environments and new surroundings which they used as inspiration to create paintings, sculptures and drawings to express to others their worldly experiences.
1MCAT, known as ‘1 Malaysia contemporary Art Tourism’, was established in year 2010 as a Tourism Malaysia initiative set up in an effort to promote the Malaysian Art Tourism scene. The programme showcases pieces from Malaysia’s most talented artists, all of which captivates and typifies Malaysia as truly Asia.
Odysseys is on display from August 19 – September 15, 2013 on the Adorn floor at Starhill Gallery.
