Nir Arieli is a photographer who first launched his career as a military photographer for an Israeli magazine. He admires beauty, vulnerability and gentleness; elements that influence the heart of his work.
His current portrait series “Men“, places men in traditionally feminine spaces and postures. He illuminates the human characteristics to become decidedly feminine traits.
“All the male models are portrayed unapologetically and shamelessly, almost proclaiming a new forthcomingness. Gentleness, uncensored emotion, vulnerability –- all of these became, under the influence of the social evolution, unnatural characteristics when manifested by men,” Arieli explained.
