The Engagement: Mandarin Oriental Honors One Couple to an Exclusive Engagement Party

In partnership with Signature Weddings, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur has recently launched Malaysia’s first ever digital wedding engagement – The Engagement. It is a campaign to honour one deserving couple to an exclusive wedding engagement party more than RM 150,000. The campaign starts from 17 July to 11 November 2013.

“We are delighted to be working with Signature Weddings who are experts in weddings. Being the first to introduce this campaign to all Malaysians is exciting, as social media has evolved to be one of the most vital communication tools in our lifestyle  today. The objective of this campaign is to honour one deserving couple to a memorable engagement party hosted by us alongside with some of the industry’s most sought-after brands which will put their family, relatives and friends in admiration for years to come,”  said Shem Wei Bel, Director of Communications of Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur.

In the coming months, couples are encouraged to submit their participation through www.theengagement.my. The site will also serve as the main platform for the public to vote, view and get updates on the progress of the campaign.

Couples will have to go through a series of four events listed below:

The Introduction (17 July to 18 August 2013)
Couples are required to introduce themselves by submitting their details, and a love story of how the met their partner and why he/she is the one. be submitted with their full name, identification number and email address. They are also encouraged to get their friends, family and relatives to vote for them on the website. The Top 50 couples with the most votes from the public will be notified on 23 August 2013 via the website and will be eligible to proceed to the next round of challenge.

The Collage (26 August to 8 September 2013)
The Top 50 couples would have to submit a photo collage video of 1-minute of them and their partner with a song that best represents their relationship. The Top 10 finalists will be selected by the panel of judges. Finalists will be notified on 13 September 2013 via the website and will be proceeding to the next stage.

The Engagement (16 to 22 September 2013)
The Top 10 finalists would have to submit a clip no longer than three minutes sharing with the public how have they proposed to their partner or couples can also choose to re-enact the actual proposal in a location identified by the panel of judges. The Top 3 finalists will be selected by the panel of judges and will be notified via the website on 27 September 2013.

The Real Deal (30 September to 6 October 2013)
The Top 3 couples would need to tell the judges why they deserve to be the winner of The Engagement in the most creative, fun and quirky way in a clip not longer than three minutes. The winning couple will be selected by the panel of judges and will be announced on 11 October 2013 on the website.

The winning couple will get to enjoy the following:

• Welcome engagement door gift by Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur
• 4-course Western set dinner menu for 100 persons in Diamond Ballroom at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur
• A bridal gown by Celest Thoi
• An engagement ring set for the couple by Amee Philips
• A bridal lingerie collection by Agent Provocateur
• Photography for the evening by Axioo with imaging equipment sponsored by Leica Store Malaysia
• Professional engagement event and party planner by Merry Factory
• Floral designs by Creativelines
• Bridal hair styled by Hair Culture
• Entertainment for the night by The Muse Entertainment
• Featured article in Signature Weddings Asia magazine
• A three (3) days, two (2) nights stay in Club suite inclusive of breakfast for two (2) persons at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur
• A Romance of Rose couple spa treatment for 2 hours and 20 minutes at The Spa, Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur
• Exclusive giveaways when they host their wedding at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur

2nd Winner will receive more than RM 5,000 worth of prizes
• 2 days 1 night stay in Park Suite inclusive of breakfast for two persons at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur
• A Romance of Rose couple spa treatment for 2 hours and 20 minutes at The Spa, Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur
• Exclusive giveaways when they host their wedding at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur

3rd Winner will receive more than RM 3,000 worth of prizes:
• 2 days 1 night stay in Club Executive Park View room inclusive of breakfast for two persons at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur
• A Romance of Rose couple spa treatment for 2 hours and 20 minutes at The Spa, Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur
• Exclusive giveaways when they host their wedding at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur

4th to 10th Winner will receive more than RM2,000 worth of prizes:
• 2 days 1 night stay in Deluxe City View room inclusive of breakfast for two persons at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur
• Exclusive giveaways when they host their wedding at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur
