With the large shroud of haze hovering our sunny skies, we find it important to advise pregnant women to avoid going out.

According to a new study, pregnant women who are exposed to high levels of air pollution are more likely to give birth to children with autism.

Researches found that pregnant women who live in more polluted areas were up to two times more likely to have a child with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), compared with those who lived in least polluted areas.

Who who are exposed to diesel fuel, lead, manganese and mercury are substances are more likely to have child with ASD.

Specialists however, says that pollution and autism are only linked, and does not have a cause-and-effect relationship. Whether it’s just a link, it’s still unsafe for anyone, no matter how healthy to head out into the open with the haze.

Stay safe and healthy during the haze with these tips.
