Nad Zainal is one busy lass! This young and bubbly actress and TV personality is returning onscreen as Kay in the second season of Memberku Hawa, but that’s not all. She’s also back as the ambassador of Kotex to promote confidence among young Malaysian women who look up to her as a role model!

We got to speak to this local sweetheart backstage of the Memberku Hawa set to talk about her career, her confidence and if she has any big plans about taking her career to the next level.

You’ve just started your second year as the Kotex ambassador. In your experience for the past year, how does it feel to represent an essential part of women’s lifestyle?
When I first found out I was selected as the ambassador for Kotex, I was excited. But I was still a new artiste, so in my first year, I went to a lot of schools to give talks about confidence. I was kind of skeptical because I was still new on the scene but by the end of it, I realized that people didn’t really care about your identity or who you are, but they were more concerned about the message you wanted to send.

What makes you feel confident as a woman?
I feel that doing the things I love and and having the passion to do it makes me confident. That aside, with some knowledge and wisdom, you can also develop the confidence to believe in yourself. Looks comes after! But being a woman, you need to find the balance in both of it.

In your career, what are you up to now? Tell us about your plans!
For now, I have a lot of projects with Kotex like work tours and talks, but I’m also very focused on my role as Kay in Memberku Hawa. I am to give my best for Memberku Hawa.

Are there any other projects that you’d like to try?
Theatre, maybe. I started in theatre, so I’d love to go back to theatre.

When it comes to acting, how different is it compared to acting on stage and shooting on-set?
The audience mostly plays a part. This is also where a lot of confidence comes to play. I’ve built up my confidence all this while though theatre, and so when I’m on set in front of a camera, I feel ready.
