An aspiring 19-year-old model was arrested after she threw herself into a ditch with a plastic bag over head, claiming she was raped – in an effort to win back her ex-boyfriend.
Kayla Earl, a swimsuit and lingerie model who claims to have auditioned for “America’s Next Top Model” twice, said she was visiting a friend’s grave when she was grabbed by an unknown man who stuffed her head in a bag and tried to rape her. He then left her for dead in a ditch.
However, investigator noticed that her story didn’t make enough sense, and she soon confessed that she staged the entire attack, hoping it would convince her ex-boyfriend to get back with her.
Pleasant Grove Detective Jason Davis said she’s going through some personal problems. He said, “Between that and wanting attention, it turns out none of this happened”.
Earl was charged with misdemeanor false reporting of a crime.
