48-year-old Hang Mioku was a beautiful model in her 20s. Realizing that physical beauty was not forever, she had her first plastic surgery procedure at the age of 28. However, her first venture into cosmetic surgery has left her hooked and wanting for more.
Operation after operation, Hang’s face eventually enlarged and looked disfigured, but she’d still look at herself in the mirror and think she was beautiful.
Eventually, the surgeons she visited refused to carry out more work on her and even suggested that her obsession with cosmetic surgery could be due to a psychological disorder.
Hang decided to return home, but all that surgery meant that her parents could no long recognize her. She went through some treatment for her mental disorder, but it was too expensive, and by then, she had fallen back into her old ways.
She found a doctor who gave her silicone injects that she can do at home, but when her supply ran out, Hang resorted to injecting cooking oil into her face. The plan backfired, and her became so largely grotesque, her story was featured on Korean TV. Viewers too mercy on her and even donated to enable her to have surgery.
Despite all the procedures to remove the foreign substances in Hang’s face, she was still scarred and disfigured. Hang now wishes she could get her original face back. (Source)
