Nails have become such an essential part of fashion these days. It such a quick and easy way to make a statement without putting in too much effort. Also, some of it can be done at the comfort of your own home, It’s become such a trend that they even have a “Mani Cam” on E! Entertainment’s live at the Red Carpet to document the latest and hottest nail trends for the season being rocked by celebrities. Granted nail art and trends have their life span, however here are a few over the years that have made quite an impact in the nail-world.
1. Caviar Nails.
When the word ‘caviar’ is mentioned, the first thought that comes to mind is that beady, little fish eggs. Caviar nails however is still beady, minus the fish eggs. This manicure is basically painting your nails with nail polish and sticking a load of tiny micro beads, making it look somewhat like caviar, hence the name. As much as we are loving this trend, it’s not very lasting if you have daily chores to do as the beads may fall off.
2. Velvet Nails.
Very similar to the caviar nails, the velvet nails are based on the same concept. Painting your nails with a layer of nail polish and then coating it with velvet-like substance. The whole idea of this nail trend is to give you a fur-like effect. As weird as that may sound, it is actually quite a fun trend, as it looks all cute and feels all fuzzy. However, this trend yet again isn’t very lasting but totally amazing for a party or event.
3. Leather Nails.
How cool are these? This nail polish when applied looks glossy (like normal nail polish) but dries down into a matte, leather looking effect. A perfect nail trend for a rockstar look or even to add some edge to an elegant look. The leather nails are probably the best idea for a lasting nail art that has an effect but will last longer.
4. Magnetic Nails.
This may be an old trend, but definitely still one worth mentioning! Magnetic nail polish is an nail polish that has science aspects to it. By using metallic particles in the nail polish. after painting it on a magnet is used to a active the particles giving the nail polish a textured and unique look.
5. Stiletto Nails.
Isn’t it very obvious just by looking at the name? This style of manicure, is actually to keep your finger nails long, and shaping the tips to be super pointy, making it look like.. yes, you guessed it, stiletto shoes! In terms of practicality we’re not quite sure about these nails, however it has been trending and seen on celebrities such as Adele. They look like lethal weapons, so our guess is it can be used as protection as well.
6. Nail Jewelry
It’s all about the bling-bling! Imagine plain black nails, with a sudden 3-d pop up bling. They come in so many varieties, colours and styles, it’s so hard to keep up! If you have plain nails, and want an added touch of something to make it a statement piece, just add on a bling and you are set for the night!
7. Nail Piercings.
You’ve heard of all kinds of piercings, well nails are no exception. Yes, it sounds really painful, but it really isn’t as the nail has to be grown past the skin in order to not injure it. The cute part of it is, you can use either a normal hoop ring or you can add an additional something cute like a little dangling flower or any sort of charm depending on your preference. Yet again, another manicure that is not meant to be used on a daily, but is definitely a conversation starter.
