You can say a lot about a woman by the shoes she keeps in her closet. But if you’re hoping to define your collection as cool, trendy and versatile, here are six pairs that we swear, you can’t live without!

1. Hi-top Sneakers
Thanks to the 90s grunge revival of Dr. Marten-esque boots, those opting for something more subtle and less ‘hardcore’ can snag a pair of hi-top sneakers that are equally comfortable, and they look way more approachable than most. If you’d like add a touch a feminity to it, get the ones with heels in it.

2. Ankle Boots
The ankle boots went out of style in early 2000, but now they’re making a more sophisticated comeback by sitting right at the ankles or lower, and with slender and less-chunkier heels. One of our favorite things about investing in a good pair of heeled ankle boots is that it’ll take you from casual to sophisticated chic when paired with shorts.

3. Nude Wedges
Nude wedges are practically fashion essentials because they make your legs look way longer, and when you pair it with a black dress, it adds a flirtatious vibe to your outfit instead of keeping to that vampy air of mystery. And much like black shoes, nude wedges can go well with just about anything!

4. Embellished Sandals
Don’t only let your collarbone do the talking with a pair of statement necklace and dress your feet up in bling too, by investing in a pretty pair of embellished sandals. They’ll add a touch of fire to your regular basic look without having to pile on a tonne of accessories.

5. Litas
Jeffrey Campbell Litas aren’t for the faint hearted. Despite being a mile high, they’re actually quite comfortable to walk in, except for the fact that you may trip and fall. If you enjoy dressing up and have had enough practice with heels, you may want to invest in a pair because these babies are hot, hot, hot!

6. Gladiator Sandals
Once deemed ‘costume’ in the 60s, and then it was the hottest thing when it crept its way into the runway in the Spring/Summer runway fashion of 2008. The Gladiator sandals was the biggest deal for a few years, but it died down with the trend. However, we’re seeing it everywhere we go now, and it’s still making a comeback. It’s hardly surprising since it’s a classic design that adds a tough yet feminine edge to your look.
