High-Protein Breakfast Aids Weight Control, Study Says

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day as it helps us stay energetic and awake the whole day.

According to our source, a study conducted by University of Missouri Assistant Professor Heather Leidy found that overweight adolescent females control their appetites better when they eat a high-protein breakfast.

The study was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. The participants who are overweight or obese females ages 18- 20, either ate no breakfast, ate low-protein cereals for breakfast, or ate breakfasts containing 35 grams of protein. After completed a series of test including surveys, blood tests and brain scanning, the study found the participants who ate the high-protein breakfasts consumed less high-fat and high-sugar snack in the evening as the food craving has decreased.

As many people tend to skip breakfast, Leidy suggests that eating the protein-rich food in the morning can be an effective weight control strategy for young people.

Oh, this is definitely a good news and we are loving this new finding because that means more egg benedicts for breakfast!
