Just when we’ve restored some faith in humanity when a five-year-old discovers the fossils of a pre-historic bird, we stumble upon this face-palming story about a man who raped and impregnated his then 15-year old sister.
The 24-year-old supermarket clerk was sentenced to 15 years prison for raping, after he pleaded guilty to committing incest with his sites between October and November 2006. According to the facts of the case, the teenager became pregnant from the rape and gave birth to a baby boy. The DNA tests did confirm that her brother was indeed the father of the child.
The accused, who was not represented in court pleaded for a lighter sentence as he was the sole breadwinner for his family. However, authorities urged the court to hand down an adequate sentence as the offender was responsible for take care of his sister, but betrayed that trust when he took advantage of her.
Another more disturbing fact was the accused had no remorse, proven by the fact that he had raped his sister before, but the child from that incident had since passed away.
Goosebumps, indeed. Let’s hope this guy gets the punishment he deserves. How his sister did not report against him is beyond us!
