Want to splurge on some fine dining? Here are some places that you should definitely check out! Kuala Lumpur really holds some of the most interesting places for gourmet and artistic cuisine. Here are eight highly recommended fine-dining restaurants in the city.

1. Sage Restaurant & Wine Bar
Address: The Gardens Hotel, Lingkaran Syed Putra  59200 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
Operating Hours: Lunch (Mon-Fri): 12pm-2pm | Dinner (Mon-Sat): 6pm-10.30pm | Closed on Sunday
If you’re looking to go somewhere secluded and romantic,  then Sage Restaurant & Wine Bar might be the right place for that. The prices of the meals, which are usually 3 course meals, range from RM100 onwards per person. As for the dress code, take not that it is a fancy restaurant – so no slippers and sleevless shirts/singlets are allowed.

2. Nerovivo
Address: 3A Jalan Ceylon, Bukit Bintang, 50200 Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
Operating Hours: 12.00 noon to 3:00 pm (Everyday)  | 6:00 pm to 11:30 pm (Everyday) | 6:00 pm to 11:30 pm (Saturday)
This restaurant has become a prime landmark in KL if you’re looking for the ultimate Italian dining experience. The ambiance is modern and stylish – and you can choose to have your meal in the ‘al fresco’ area, which is along the side of the restaurant.

3. Third Floor
Address: Level 3R, JW Marriott Hotel,, 183 Jalan Bukit Bintang, Bukit Bintang, 55100 Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
Operating Hours:  Monday – Friday: 12.30 – 3.00pm, 7.00 – 10.30pm | Saturday 7.30 – 10.00pm | Sunday Closed
Third floor is consists of a classic modern cuisine concept. It is French-inspired with a blend of flavors from Australia and the Pacific Rim. They serve up to 150 hors d’oeuvres accompanied by a special menu by the head chef. The ambience is modern with a contemporary feel, and it’ll be an unforgettable dining experience. 

4. Senses (KL Hilton)
Address: Hilton Kuala Lumpur Hotel, 3 Jalan Stesen Sentral, 50470 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
Known as the ‘gem’ this restaurant is tucked away in the Hilton Kuala Lumpur. It is an intimate and personalized place that serves modern Australian dishes. They use sustainable seafood and organic products. The are also known for having the best scallops in Malaysia – guess you’ll have to try it out to find out!

5. Lafite (Shangri-La)

Operating Hours: Lunch 12noon – 2.30pm (Monday to Friday) Dinner 7pm – 10.30pm (Monday to Saturday)
If you’re looking to dine at the finest of them all, then this is where you need to go. Lafite was voted as Best Fine Fining Restaurant in Time Out KL Food Awards in both 2009 and 2010. The ambiance of the place is purely romantic and the food is just as satisfying. If you want to get ‘away from the city’ then this is the perfect place to make you feel like you’ve escaped.

6. Cilantro Restaurant and Wine Bar
Address: Micasa All Suite Hotel,, 368B Jalan Tun Razak,, 50400 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
Offering an interesting palette of flavors, Cilantro is one of the most interesting fine dining restaurants out there. With a choice of dishes that you thought you’d never find in KL, Cilantro will not fail to impress. The ambiance is just as interesting as the food too. It’s also been awarded as Best Fine Dining category of the Time Out KL Food Awards 2012.

7. Marini’s On 57
Operating Hours: Monday to Thursday – 7 pm to 11 pm (Last call 10.45 pm) | Friday to Sunday – 6.30 pm to 12 pm (Last call 10.45 pm)
You will find this fine dining restaurant on the 57th  of the Petronas Tower and that goes hand in hand with having an amazing view. It is an Italian restaurant and cigar lounge, which is perfect for those swanky tourists and post-work urbanites. Good food, good view and just pure good ambience.

8. NEO Tamarind
Address: 19, Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur
This is the Asian-fusion fine dining choice in Kuala Lumpur. If you’re not in the mood for Western cuisine, then NEO Tamarind is where you should head to. You get a great atmosphere, good service, and of course good food. Isn’t that enough already?
