19-year-old Ashley Chan was chosen as the winner of the 1st ever Bella Awards “Bella Official Correspondent” search.
Coming from English and Chinese descent, Ashley will be co-hosting the prestigious and glamorous Red “Sparkle” Carpet with the witty Nazrudin Rahman at the awards ceremony on 2nd March.
Currently pursuing her Diploma in Mass Communication at IACT College, Ashley came out as a clear favorite throughout the competition, beating five other strong finalists in the fierce competition.
“It’s beyond amazing. I don’t really know what to say because it hasn’t sunk in yet! This whole experience has just been wonderful, I’ve learn so much and met some great people; I love every second of my journey,” said Ashley who holds a Grade 8 Distinction Certificate in RAD Ballet.
Ashley is a highly competitive spirit, equipped with sound knowledge on the entertainment and fashion world proved to be the one to beat from the beginning of the competition. With a strong passion in the performing arts, Ashley also impressed the panel of judges and the public with her excellent public speaking and presentation skills that earned her the coveted title as the winner of Bella Official Correspondent.
In preparation for the big day before the news of her victory, she said, “I’m expecting it to be a brilliant experience. I definitely need to know my stuff so I’ve been brushing up on the nominees, and fashion. I hope to bring a young, fresh new feel to the Red ‘Sparkle’ Carpet.
The Bella Official Correspondent search is one of the activations under Bella Awards – Malaysia’s 1st women’s awards show – held to celebrate, recognize, and honor women for their achievements and contributions to society.
Bella Awards will air LIVE on 2nd March 2013, at primetime 9.00pm – 10.30pm, while the Red Carpet will be shown at 8.30pm on ntv7.
