The long awaited MTV Video Music Awards 2012 is finally here. So, what went down? We’ve got the recap on who preformed and who won themselves a trophy! It was a fun filled night with loads of music at hand and jaw dropping performances… and not to mention, a couple of kisses.. read on to find out who kissed a boy and liked it!
The show started with an opening from Rihanna and the house DJ of the night, Calvin Harris. Hosted by comedian Kevin Hart it was a fun filled night ahead.. Did you miss out on the show? We’ve got the details that you need to know on what went on through out the night!
The first award of the night was presented by none other than California Girl –Katy Perry! She presented the award for ‘Best Pop Video’ and the trophy went to none other than One Direction – but lucky for two direction-ers who got more than just their VMA trophy. They also got a nice peck on the lips by Katy Perry herself! (She’s pretty open about her love for that band!)
After the award for Best Pop Video, Pink took on the stage doing what she does best, she flies through the sky sporting hot shorts and a simple t-shirt! There were other performances by artists like Frank Ocean, Lil Wayne and 2Chainz, Greenday and not to miss out, One Direction did a little performance too!
There was also a special appearance from current sensation, PSY! He and Kevin did the classic Gangnam Style for the crowd!
Not only was PSY’s appearance surprising but the cast of Twilight showed up to introduced an exclusive clip for the upcoming film from the Twilight Saga.. everyone was there except for…. well, Kristen Stewart. But, it was good to see the cast all together!
Alicia Keys hit the stage to finally introduce her new single, Girl On Fire! We’re excited that she’s back! And, her performance was one of our favorites of the night.
Then came the award of the night… ‘Music Video of the Year’ presented by the host himself. The nominees included, Gotye, Katy Perry, MIA and many others… but the artist that took home the prize was Rihanna!
The final performance of the night was by Taylor Swift, singing her new single, Never Ever. And she was sporting a stripped red and white top along with some sexy short shorts… pretty different than her usual outfits huh?
