As girls, we don’t want to have an abundance of unwanted hair.. right? So, how can you avoid those little slips and cuts the next time you shave – along with giving your skin that clean cut finish. Here are a few things to consider before you pick up the razor!
1. Use the right razor
Make sure you use the right razor when you decide to shave. It’s always good to find a razor with a moisturize strip that contains either aloe vera or jojoba. Most razors that are specifically for women will have these moisturizing.
2. Change your razor
Just like all sharp things, razors will eventually get blunt. So, try to change your razor after 5-6 uses. Once your razor becomes dull, it won’t shave off as clean as you want. Plus, changing it often will also keep as much bacteria away as possible.
3. Exfoliate those legs
Shaving is actually a way to exfoliate your skin, but it’s always good to make sure you exfoliate as much dirt as possible. You can use a scrub 2-3 times a week to get rid of any excess dirt. Though, we’re not saying you need to scrub your skin right before shaving, it’s fine if you don’t. But if you want to keep legs looking shinny and flawless, scrubbing once in a while is good.
4. Keep it warm
When shaving your legs, keep your water temperature at a warm level. Hot water will only kill off the moisture from your skin. And moisture is something you definitely need!
5. End your shower with a shave
It’s best to shave at the end of your shower. Why is that? Well, this way your hair and skin is exposed to the water for longer which softens your hair and skin, and this will make your shave cleaner and more comfortable.
6. Shaving techniques
Well, it’s commonly known that we should start shaving from the ankles up, when it comes to our legs. Shaving against the hair growth will ensure you and closer and cleaner shave. As for your underarms, shave at every angle. You can shave up and down and even in an ‘X’ it does the trick. This makes sure that the hair is completely cleaned off.
So there you have it! Some things you should consider when it comes to shaving. But ofcourse, after you shave, don’t forget to moisture as well! Applying a lotion after a shave with add more moisture to your skin and it will always soothe your skin from any irriation.
But, if shaving isn’t your think – you can also consider waxing for a clean finish! Happy shaving, ladies!
