Swarovski is excited to unveil Swarovski ReCreated™ Crystals, an innovative and sustainable way of creating crystals.
By combining its expertise with circular production methods, Swarovski has developed its most eco-friendly crystals yet. ReCreated™ Crystals are made by melting leftover pieces from crystal production to create new crystals with consistent colors and the same high quality as the originals.
This process uses 40% fewer natural resources and reduces the environmental footprint by at least 34%. Swarovski ReCreated™ Crystals are being used in the brand’s B2B products and many of its jewelry collections, as part of its commitment to more sustainable practices.
Swarovski has been a master of color for nearly 130 years and plans to release new ReCreated™ Crystal shades every year. Currently available in Jet Black and Ice Blue, the collection is expanding. For Fall/Winter 2024, Ice Blue features in popular collections like Sublima and Millenia. A vibrant yellow shade, Dark Jonquil, launched this Fall for B2B partners and will appear in new jewelry collections from Spring/Summer 2025.
“Swarovski ReCreated™ Crystals show how we’re using creativity to lead in sustainable crystal-making,” said Stephan Mechnig, Chief Legal, Compliance, and Sustainability Officer. “We’re committed to improving the environmental impact of our entire product range, including iconic collections.”
Swarovski is dedicated to increasing sustainability by integrating circular design principles. ReCreated™ Crystals reflect the brand’s mission to make thoughtful choices that benefit people, the planet, and the business.
Swarovski’s sustainability efforts focus on three key areas: reducing climate impact, conserving resources, and promoting fairness and individuality.
