‘’Cheek Carving’’: The Quick Way To Contour Without Bronzer

How to slim down your face in just a minute without bronzing

Don’t get us wrong: we love everything extra. And that includes a good amount of contouring—our refined jawlines, our smaller forehead, we owe it a lot to contouring. But, it doesn’t have to be so intense or time-consuming every time we apply bronzer. A few strokes of the right products is enough to tailor your face shape and create a subtly sculpted, but still noticeable effect that’s wearable in the real world.

Enter ‘cheek carving’, the clever contouring technique that allows you to shape and sculpt the face without even picking up a bronzer brush. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Slice

Start by loading a small flat brush up with a concealing formula a few shades lighter than your foundation tone. To sharpen the cheekbone, you’ll have to go in and slice the cheekbone right there. Just swipe concealer along the bottom of the cheekbone, drawing a straight, sharp line from the tragus of the ear down toward the lips, tapering off toward the centre of the lower cheek.

Step 2: Smooth

Up next? Blending. You just beat the hell out of it. (You’ll want to use a synthetic brush for this one.) And make sure everything is seamless and smooth on your skin.

Step 3: Powder

The last step requires more blending, this time with a powdery twist. To blur all the lines, go in with a medium colour powder and soften everything across the harsh slice line to blend and add glow. Make sure to switch your brush out again for this final part of the blending process. We recommend you to use a medium-sized fluffy powder brush to take care of this step.
